So I hear that Hyrum's sister, Susan, will be coming out with Hyrum's mom when I have the baby, which is exciting because she's the only one in the family who has NEVER been out to Oregon.
David came out the longest, and has been out three times: once when he was 13 and he lived with us in Ashland, once for a couple weeks when we lived with Dane and Karen in Coquille, and then he moved out to our place in Myrtle Point with his wife for a few months after he got married.
Teresa has been out 3 times also. She came out to Ashland with Kody and the kids for a camping trip before we had any kids. She also lived with us for a couple of months at our Coquille house during the time I had the Garcia kids and was pregnant with Hyatt.
She came out the third time to take her stuff she'd moved out to Oregon back to Utah.
Maren came out three times, like David, but they were mostly short visits. She came out with her dad for Talea's blessing,
she and her family came out in the summer of '07 for a vacation/road trip around Oregon with us,
and she came out for Kiersa's birth last February.
Rachel came out to Ashland to get her kids from my mom's house after I couldn't watch them anymore, but we weren't able to catch up with her with our work schedule and all.
Elisabeth and her family came out shortly after Talea was born and visited the coast with us.
Hyrum's mom takes the cake with the most visits: 7 to be exact. She came out for our wedding, then she came out to see Talea shortly after she was born,
next she brought Teresa out to Coquille to get her belongings shortly before I had Hyatt,
then she came out for Hyatt's blessing,
then she visited us in Coquille when Hyatt was about 6 months, then again when I was a few months pregnant with Kiersa and we all went on a river boat trip,
and lastly, she came out for Kiersa's birth when we were in Myrtle Point.
She'll be coming out for this birth also, which will make her 8th trip.
So I have to wonder, does she love us the most, since she has come out to visit us the most? Hmmm, maybe. But I'd have to say that if the quantity of visits proves the quality of love, we love everyone in Utah more than they love us because we have come out to Utah at least once, if not twice, every year since we got married and moved out of Utah. Not including all of our visits while we drove semi, we've done the Oregon to Utah trek at least 9 times, even when gas was around $4 a gallon. How's that for love!?! We've done the Oregon to Wyoming and Idaho trek to see the Smiths quite a few times as well. So I'm thinking the Johnson and Smith clans owe us a little love!
Or maybe we just miss family since it was so fun to see most everyone at Thanksgiving. Thanks for the memories, guys! We'll be back next summer so all of our new babies can acquaint themselves.
