You decide...

I think Hyatt looks just like his Daddy, except for the nose. What do you think?

This picture is old so the colors are dark, but Hyrum's eyes are blue, not brown.
I think Tilly looks just like her Daddy too, with a teeny bit of her Mommy mixed in. Hyrum thinks the opposite. What do you think?

Tilly
If you think that Tilly looks more like Hyrum, then you're a smart feller. She looks way more like Hyrum than like me! She's almost identical to him in the above picture! It tooks 5 pictures to get the picture that looks like Hyrum, with 4 of those pictures being good candidates. It took 60 pictures of Tilly to look like my picture, and only 4 were semi-decent candidates, and none identical. She's definitely her Daddy's twin. What do you think?

Same jawline, eyebrows and eyes.

Same mouth and nose.
Not only does Tilly look like Hyrum, she likes and dislikes the same food as him, and has the same personality as him (outgoing, loves friends and socializing, and talks a lot)

Hyrum and I both agree that Hyatt is Hyrum's mini-me. We can't agree on who Talea looks like, and we both think Kiersa is starting out looking like Hyrum.

So who does Kiersa look like?

Tag???

I'm not 100% sure how tagging works yet since I'm brand spanking new to blogging, but I was reading Amanda's blog and saw this "Tag" and thought it was fun to read her answers, so I thought I'd copy hers and put in my answers so people could learn a little something about me.

10 years ago I was:
At BYU majoring in Home Economics Education and getting ready to send my boyfriend, Jamie, off on a mission. I waited, unfaithfully, for Jamie, then married Hyrum instead. Hyrum is the reason I say I waited "unfaithfully" for Jamie.

5 things on my to do list today:
1. Finish tiling the bathroom shower so we don't have to use the neighbor's shower again. (Uh, in this picture I'm guarding my back end because Hyrum always takes pictures of it. This is my first ever attempt at tiling.)
2. Set up a doctor's appointment to get my ankle checked. But first I have to establish a doctor.
3. Mow the lawn.
4. Make a cinco de mayo outfit for Tilly and Sophie for their joint birthday party.
5. Make curtains for my living room/bedroom (they are one and the same right now).

3 of my bad habits:
1. Saying I'm disgusted with my lack of discipline when it comes to losing weight, then shortly thereafter eating ice cream or cookies.
2. Writing nasty emails to people after they've ticked me off by being a jerk to my husband or me.
3. Not stopping a project (like yard work) to make meals for my family, so they end up fending for themselves by snacking on whatever they can find (usually cereal or junk food). And I wonder why we have a problem shedding weight???

5 places I've lived:
Rogue Valley (Ashland & Sam's Valley) Oregon
This was the view out our window in Sam's Valley (click to enlarge)

Auburn, CA (Lake of the Pines)
Rexburg, ID
Utah Mormonville (Provo and Heber City)
Coquille Valley (Coquille & Myrtle Point) Oregon

This was the house we remodeled in Coquille.

This is our current house in Myrtle Point (though it's going through an overhaul so we live in the apartment out back)5 jobs I have had:
1. Making pizzas at Figaro's Pizza during high school (ah, the pizza dough I took home was great). 2. Working at Apple Cellar during my summers off from college (all the free bread and pastries I wanted after hours...yum!).
3. Housekeeper for several wealthy and/or old women during college at BYU (one with a condition that caused her to have explosive diarrhea, and I was the lucky one who got to clean it after it dried on the toilet).
4. Home Ec teacher in West Valley (junior high) and Park City (high school) in Utah. I left right before the Olympics, and Mrs. Fields' (as in the famous cookies) daughter was in my interior design class. Beautiful, intelligent girl!
5. Substitute teacher in Southern Oregon. New subjects every day, I didn't have to work that day if I didn't feel like it, no grading, no conferences, no stress...it didn't get any better than that.

Things most people don't know about me:
I love my irobot vacuum because it does the cleaning for me. I LOVE yard work. I love painting (walls and houses, not canvas or paper). I took a fertility pill in order to get pregnant with my first baby, but the other 2 came as happy surprises. I got a chicken pock on one spot of the lower lashes of my right eye and can't grow eyelashes there now...it's the bane of my makeup routine. I am not a shoes or clothes person (meaning I don't hoard those items). I adore organizing and the items involved in that (baskets, Rubbermaid's, decorative boxes, etc). I didn't learn how to play the piano because I didn't want to get stuck with that as a church calling for the rest of my life (I would die if I had to play in front of people and have them hear my mistakes).

Now the 4's...
Four places I go to over and over:
WalMart, WalMart, WalMart and WalMart (That's probably the only place I go when I leave my house. Okay, maybe not, but it feels like it. I'm kind of a hermit. I never leave my house lately without Hyrum because it's a major production, and my carseats are always in his truck.) Okay, here it really is: Super WalMart, the pediatrician, church, Ashland

Four people who email me regularly:
LaRae Smith (Hyrum's grandma who's obsessed with forwarding forwarded emails)
Cage Cluff (she always responds to my emails)
US bank, with bill pay updates
I don't have a fourth "regular." My friends and family call instead of write, and Hyrum's family texts me instead of using email. Most people who write me emails write irregularly.

Four places I like to eat:
Lucky Star (chinese where one $8.95 order feeds the entire family)
Captain's Choice (best clam chowder bread bowls)
Olive Garden (but Hyrum doesn't like it)
Senor Sam's (great, speedy, fresh mex with portions big enough to share)

Four places I would like to be right now:
At Daisha's in England
At Tasha's in San Diego
On a cruise
Living in my house with the remodel completed

Four people who will respond (I'm tagging you!):
Kylene, Tome, Annie, Nancy (and anyone else who would like to join in the fun)

Four TV shows:
American Idol
So You Think You Can Dance
You Are What You Eat (on BBC America...the nutrition Nazi is like a female Simon Cowell with her blunt, yet truthful, rudeness)
Any HGTV show

Tilly and the creepy crawlies

(This post is mostly for Nana and the relatives who have missed a lot of Tilly's growing up because of living so far away. Thought you'd enjoy some pictures!)
Talea has no fear of worms, snakes, daddy-long-legs, beetles, bugs, and pretty much any other things people are squeemish with. Not even slimy seaweed can gross her out. She's always been an animal lover too. Here's some pictures of her enjoying her little pets over the years, but shockingly, I don't have any pictures of her holding earthworms! Worms, frogs, and baby snails are her favorites.

She's always had a thing for ladybugs.

She's always had plenty of Min Pins around.

Our first litter of kittens were toys to her. Most kids wouldn't want to handle hermit crabs, but Tilly didn't mind.
Feeding parrots isn't scary, even though their nails are sharp!
Her snake fettish begins.

Ah, the beloved frogs. Do NOT rub your eyes after handling frogs unless you wash your hands!Maybe he'll turn into a prince!
She caught (and released) a starfish! I wish I could get her into riding lessons around here! This bird was half-frozen and didn't even fly away from my dogs, so Tilly warmed it up and released it. Tilly's pet cockatiel, Spur She adores feeding fish and would have jumped in with them if we would have let her!

Feeding the lambs was super fun! These two horses were former members of the Budweiser Draft horse team.
What 3 year-old is brave enough to feed a wild goose with her mouth? Talea!
Turkeys and chickens are messy! And turkeys make some weird noises besides a gobble!
This is Tilly's seaweed tail.
Tilly's current kitty when it was a kitten.
Calling Daddy to tell him all about her snake she caught with Mommy.
She asked me, "Can I kiss snakes?" I said, "It's probably better not to make a habit of kissing snakes because some may bite you." So she says, "Can snakes kiss me?" as she pokes the snake's face to her cheek a few times.

Our Coquille house remodel

The sale of our last house (in Coquille) was final in October 2007. We had that house (see pictures of it below) for 2 years, and sometimes we miss it. We did a pretty big remodel on it, but the house was only 1300 sq ft (1500 after we were done), so it wasn't too overwhelming. We revamped the yard too. I've had a few people want to see the pictures, so here they are. The after pictures are before things were completely finished, but close enough. Every room in the house came with a ton of stuff (some I kept, some I tossed or sold) inside and out. We had to have a major garage sale just to be able to move our things into the house. We've been in a new place now for 6 months, and Tilly keeps telling me she misses our old yard. You can't tell from the pictures below, but it gave kids a good place to run and play.
