A perfect day...join us next time!

Our family loves nothing more than just hanging out together. We wouldn't mind visitors though, so if any of this fun stuff we did on the 17th appeals to you, come join us!

It was blazing hot from the 14th to the 17th, so after sweating it out in our apartment (no A/C here because it's normally not hot enough to require it), we had to get out and cool off at the ocean. Hyrum had to go into work on Saturday, so we made a family day out of it. While he worked on a kitchen design in the office with some customers, the kids and I played at a park.

"Oh no! I have to pee!"

When Hyrum called us to say he was done, we picked him up and packed up stuff to have a fire on the beach and headed over to the cool winds of the ocean. We first stopped off in Bandon so he could measure a kitchen. After that was done, we headed to Shore Acres (which is a breathtaking garden right next to the ocean and Sunset Bay) since the flowers are all out and blooming. Hyrum has only ever seen it at Christmas when they light it up with a spectacular light display, but right now it's peaceful (no crowds), and exploding with color. You will fall in love with rhododendrons and azaleas after visiting Shore Acres.

Right past Shore Acres is a spot in the ocean that's full of sea lions and harbor seals. April and May are the months that baby seals are born here. We were lucky enough to see a mother and pup close enough to shore to photo. They're right in the middle of the picture resting on the rocks (pup on the left, mother on the right). I'd heard about this place from my mom, but I had never visited it. It was amazing!

After the park, the gardens and the seals, we were hungry and went on to the beach to build our bonfire. We love going to the beach for dinner because we're there when the sun is setting and we get great silhouette pictures. Hyrum never likes the thought of going to the beach because of the sand mess and packing things around, but once we're there he always loves it.

Ah, a perfect bed of coals for roasting ears of corn or toasting marshmallows.

If the pictures above don't appeal to you, I'd guess you're a motel kind of person who likes to stay indoors and watch TV. You're missing out!

Are you tempted yet? Friends and family, near and far, are welcome to come visit anytime! We'll take you to all the hot spots and even roast some corn on the beach. You know you want a silhouette of your family to hang on your wall.

Looks like fun, we will have to get my trailer finished so we can spend some serious time at the beach.

By the way, you tell the litle Tilly to be nice to her brother and quit dragging him around. :) I thought that was cute.
