Killing time in the car

After saving for the last 3 years, we were finally able to afford Talea's cosmetic surgery! We gave her collagen injections in her lips!! What do you think??
The kids and I are fortunate enough to be able to tag along with Hyrum when he picks up countertops in Winston, and when he goes to Coos Bay sometimes. It's funny because the back bench of his truck is full of car seats! The other day he had work errands to do in Coos Bay, and the kids and I needed to meet Amy at Outdoor In, so to save gas, Hyrum took us over to Coos Bay with him. After we were done playing, and he was done with almost all of his appointments, he picked us up and we headed to WalMart for some grocery shopping (I don't do it alone if I don't have to since I have 3 little ones tagging along). Before we got there, we stopped at one last appointment so Hyrum could finalize a kitchen sale. We waited in the car, like so many times before, and we amused ourselves with the camera. Before I realized it, I'd taken about 95 pictures of the kids. So here's how silly we were:

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Hyrum's profession, he's a kitchen designer. We moved to Coquille almost 4 years ago for Hyrum to be a partner with 3 other relatives at A-1 Kitchen & Bath. They don't build any cabinets because it's not a custom cabinet shop. They just design the kitchens and order the cabinets from cabinet companies, and then they install them. Hyrum started as an installer, but that made him feel like a bull in a china cabinet when he'd break things, so he taught himself the design program after work each night and soon started working in the office as a designer. Last October, the business had a huge transition wherein Hyrum bought out all his partners. Uncle Clayton and his wife were finally able to retire, and Dane moved to Ashland to work as a jeweler. Hyrum is now the sole owner and president of A-1 Kitchen & Bath. (Um, we don't like the name at all, and have been trying for years to think of a catchy name to use instead, but we can't think of anything good enough, so if anyone has any ideas, throw them our way. We'd like the focus to be geared more toward kitchen design, so people don't assume we're custom cabinet builders.)

One thing I love about Hyrum being his own boss is that we get to spend so much more time together now. When he doesn't have appointments, Hyrum will do a lot of his designing at home because, believe it or not, a wife and 3 small children are less of a distraction than employees since we don't need to ask him a bunch of questions that take him away from designing. I try to keep the kids away from him so he can work because I love just having him around, even if he is working.

It's cute that you guys love sitting in the car all day just so you can spend some time with Hyrum at work.
