We may not get much snow here on the Oregon coast, but Talea managed to find a way to make up for it. Scratching styrofoam!
It was EVERYWHERE!! And since it's full of static, it's almost impossible to get rid of.
Yes, this may look cute or humorous to most people, and I can see Nana getting a good laugh over it, but have you ever tried to clean up 10 gajillion-bazillion teency-tincey little styrofoam balls off the floor? Not easy.
It was Talea's mess, so we were determined to have her clean it up.
First, I had her try the dust mop.
Too much static.
Then she came up with her own "brilliant" idea of using a wet caulking rag soaked in caulk-infused water that she found lying around in a small container after Jeremy (our installer) caulked some floor trim in the showroom. Leave it to a kid to see foggy, white water as a solution to cleaning up drifts of styrofoam snow.
The result of the wet rag method: a wet floor with more styrofoam in the bucket than water.
After nixing that idea, we had her try the shop-vac, but it's missing the filter right now, so it essentially became a snow blower, projecting the trillions of balls all over the shop in every direction, instead of containing them.
Needless to say, the floor still looks snowed on and it keeps wafting it's way into the showroom. Talk about a blizzard!
I think I'll make it Jeremy's job to find a way to clean it up...since he left the styrofoam on the floor in the first place.

i do not remember why i know what this is like, but my grama used to use dryer sheets to pick them up. just put one sheet in each hand and start grabbing! they are a little easier to get, but still a pain since they are so tiny
We had a similar incident the other day I think I got the last 2 balls off my floor yesterday! And I swear if one more person sends a package with peanuts I'll kill them.
Oh man! At least it was in the shop and not in your bedroom or something!
Kids are fabulous!! Landon would totally do this if we had it. So sorry...
