Horsin' around

Maren and Braxton were able to come to horseback riding lessons a couple of weeks ago.

Grooming the horse isn't the kids' favorite part, but they're getting better at it.

Tilly loves the sparkly bridle, or head stall as Olivia calls it.

Tilly got to lead the horse this time.

Hyatt looks so cute on such a big horse.

This last week, Hyatt didn't get to go to the lessons because he pooped and peed in his pants out of laziness at work just when we needed to leave for the lessons, and he hasn't done that for 6 months or so, so we figured that not letting him go would be good enough punishment, and boy did he cry!
Tilly was able to go, and she rode a new horse. It was a buckskin pony. Much more her size and much more responsive to her reigning. She trotted the horse by herself, did the poles and barrels, and overall did such a great job...until it was time to cool the horse down. She was tired of riding by then and got lazy and stopped listening. She usually doesn't get to ride that long since Hyatt takes up some of the time, so hopefully next time Hyatt will go and Tilly will do better at the end.

Here are the kids hanging out on the bed, watching a movie.

Braxton has serious scowling skills, and I used to get this look every time he looked at me for the first couple weeks they were here, but he doesn't do it to me anymore. Well, hardly ever. He can even give better crusties than this. If looks could kill...

That is so fun that your kids are taking horse riding lessons. Kids after there father's heart. Thanks for posting pictures of Braxton cuz I really miss them and since Maren isn't keeping up on her blogging then you better include all of them in yours. You guys are mean for keeping Maren and the boys away from me for so long. I'm excited to see all of you in a couple weeks.

That looks like so much fun! How fun for the kids to have their cousins there to play with. Where are they staying?

I'm so embaressed that he makes those faces!! Kids are so brutially honest, and My son is #1 at that! He will do that to me when He is embaressed or mad at me! Sorry Tiana.... but I love that he can't get enough of his cousins!
