Hair-raising story

Hyatt was getting pretty shaggy,

and his rat tail was unacceptable.

So it was time to break out the scissors.

The problem with cutting Hyatt's hair is that he has two cowlicks on the back of his head, like his Uncle David, so when his hair is short, those two cowlicks make his hair stand up like a rooster in the middle of his head, toward the back. I really don't know what to do about it.

Look, Mom! No rat tail!

My two younger ones both have two cowlicks. It's not as bad on girls with the sticking up problem but it sucks to part their hair for ponytails

All of my boys have cowlicks... so what I have done is breakout the clippers and shave them. It also helps on those "we're late" days which with 4 kids happens alot... I hate that. With Jeremy I clipper the sides and use scissors on top and spike it. That would take care of the stick up part in the back. He loves it! And they look so cute I think.

Sorry, I am probably not going to be too much help with names, but lets see...

Cowboy names - Austin, Brody, Tucker, I don't know. I am not into cowboy ANYTHING! As for a middle name for a girl - Elle is very cute, Paisley Sierra? I don't know. These may sound stupid, I am not really good with names :(

Nice cut.
Okay so you keep asking about diet and exercise. Here is what I do....
No breakfast until 10:30am (Slimfast w/ a piece of fruit, 250 calories)
Lunch @ 2:30pm- (Salad or sandwich, fruit and vegies, about 300 caleries in all.)
dinner @ 6pm Whatever I make for dinner for the family I eat, only one portion. Always vegies or salad, dessert. about 600 calories)
lots of water.
NO SNACKING. Eat about 1200 calories per day. That means if I want cake I just eat super light the rest of the day. I always have a treat. EVERYDAY. But I only waste the calories on something I really like.
I work out 3-5 days a week. I'm training for a 1/2 marathon in April. My biggest secret is that I have a husband who only weighs 145lb. and I can't stand being bigger then him. That helps a lot! :)
Also, know that I cheat pretty bad once or twice a week!
Good Luck!

Dustin has THE WORST cowlick right in the front of his hairline, and everytime he comes here, he insists on me cutting it and he is very self consious about it so if you remember I cut his hair in the summer and blogged about it, it was so awful, I tried to leave the top a little longer so that it would keep his cowlick down but it ended up looking close to bowl shape haircut, ya needless to say we ended up taking him somewhere to get it fixed. NO MORE HAIRCUTS FOR ME, I PROMISE. Darin banned me from even touching Star's hair. Oh well.

Ahhhh the rat tail! How was that EVER a trend?! You should let him grow his hair out to match his dad's high school mullet and take a picture for posterity (purple shirt and all!). He's not in school or anything so it's not like it would hurt his social life. How it didn't hurt Hyrum's social life, I'll never know!
